Its that time of year again! Last year I wasn't able to make it and this year I toyed with the idea of not going. Good thing I changed my mind. I think I would have regretted it!
I am getting things gathered together to head to Winfield, KS tomorrow morning. As I type, the Walnut Valley Festival is already fully underway. There was some question this time last week if the festival would happen at all this year. There was so much rain recently that the Walnut River was too high, and campers had to evacuate the fairgrounds. There is still no camping on the fairgrounds. People are having to pitch their tents at lake Winfield 14 miles away. But the festival is still happening. Because of this, I am doing things a little differently this go-round. I am going tomorrow to camp only. I did not buy a ticket to the festival. I am going purely to enjoy the company of my friends and a night of camping!
