Outside the Coors Brewery in Golden, CO. Not a wedding, but still part of the trip.

Downtown Colorado Springs
We were out of town for five days last week. When we left, Tiny was outside and Puff was inside to tend to her kitties. When we returned home, Tiny never came back. Puff ran outside right away excited for fresh air, and that was the last time we saw her. That was Wednesday night. We got milk replacement from the vet and are bottle feeding the baby kitties. Some people who know how many cats we already have might think that's crazy, but it's in honor of Puff.

I have bad luck with kitties that I get attached to. From now on, no more loving cats. I quit!

8 days of blogging catch up!

I have been on a blogging hiatus. First we didn't have Internet, then I didn't have anything interesting to say, and then I didn't have time. So now I will attempt to catch up on everything noteworthy that has happened since my last entry.

Item #1 I colored my hair the most fantastic color. It was an accident, but I love it!

#2 Harvest 2008:
Adam, Dwight and the crew started cutting wheat on June 21. They finished up just Friday.

#3 Emily and Rowan were here for a week and a half to help with Harvest. Emily ran the cart and Rowan played with grandma all day. It was nice to have them around. I got some good aunt & nephew moments with the little guy!

#4 I played 18-year-old again and stayed up way too late on a school night. I got to spend an evening with Emily and Sara. We had a good time. Around 10:30 p.m. we decided to drive to Newton for a trip down memory lane at Newells. It was worth the late night for a time with my friends.

#5 Adam sent me flowers at work. They were "I'm sorry" flowers. They were absolutely beautiful. Everyone was envious! Only today are they beginning to wilt.

#6 I turned 25! I'm a quarter of a century now! Since I'm always looking for a reason to have people over, I threw myself a birthday party! Dad and Mom made it from CO in time for the party on Thursday night. It was mostly work people who came. Joe, Leah and Sara were also there. I rented a margarita machine and had yummy food. I had ordered a plain sheet cake for the cake from a lady at work who makes the most delectable cakes. Kathie felt like I shouldn't have to pay for my own birthday cake, so she made arrangements with Mae to fancy the cake up, and she would pay for it. Mae made a Hawaiian cake and put a little hula girl on it. It was the cutest thing! So thoughtful of Kathie! I don't have any pictures from the party yet. I was too busy entertaining to snap pictures. Kathie took quite a few and I will have to see if I can get them from her. I will say I had a great time at the party I threw. I hope everyone else who was there did too!

#7 Our little hussy Puff had another litter of kittens. She had five, and so far they are all still alive. They're cute, but we already have so many cats.

#8 Operation bathroom makeover continues. Once again dad has been working hard on making my bathroom the most beautiful room in the house. On Friday morning he began by tearing out the old floor and vanity.

Saturday morning he laid the durock and tile on the floor. It looks so nice.

Today dad has been working on plumbing all day. I even played plumber for a little while. I like watching and learning. It's been a real bear. I think more than he had anticipated. That's pretty much been everything throughout the project.
They planned on leaving today, but I don't know if that's still the plan. There is still work to be done before you can call the bathroom fully functioning. It will be a late night if they do decide to start driving yet today.
