24 hours of a great time!

On Tuesday evening I headed out of town with my friend Adam on our way to Albuquerque, NM. We couldn't leave until after he was done with work for the day. We left Pueblo somewhere around 8:00. We had a great road trip through the remainder of Southern Colorado and into New Mexico. What a time! When we arrived in Albuquerque we had several choices in hotels and picked the Isleta Hotel & Casino. It was beautiful! So fancy and awesome! The kicker...it was pretty inexpensive! Woo hoo! We checked in around 1:30 a.m. and headed to the casino for a bit. We didn't stay too long, just long enough to lose some money on the penny slots.
After sleeping on a cloud, we ate the yummiest breakfast burrito in one one of the hotel restaurants. Only $2.99. I would go back just for that. We lost $10 more in the slots before we headed back into town to pick up the fireplace for dad. The whole reason we got to go on our mini vacation was because of this fireplace. The owners of one of the houses dad is currently working on picked a keva fireplace from Adobelite Fireplaces. We had the pleasure of meeting Jim, the man mom and dad have been working with at Adobelite. He was a grandpa type funny man. We have some funny quotes from our hour there with Jim. After loading the fireplace we hit the road again.
The way home was just as fun as the drive there. We made it back to Pueblo just in time for Adam to make it to bowling. I watched one of their games and then hit the road again headed for the Springs in his truck loaded down with the big fireplace.
I am so glad that it worked out to take this trip. Now it's getting my crap together before I leave for Austin on Oct. 1. I'll have some time after that until I start my new job as a child welfare caseworker for El Paso County on the 13th!

Okay...forget it

I tried to fix my word of the day post and it's just not working like I hoped it would. So never mind.

BORED!

I have new ideas every day about what I want to do with my life. I feel like what I do for a living defines who I am. I think in a way it does. I can't very easily settle for a "job" for very long. I need a passion.
The first week of not having a job is kind of great. The first month of not having a job is pretty cool. Now, tomorrow marks two months of unemployment. I'm BORED! It might be difficult to get back into a routine, but I need it!

I was fortunate to get the job I did right out of school. I was there for three years, and was able to move up in the company. By the time I was leaving MM I was ready to go. I want to feel like I did at my peak of working at MM. I could go back to social work. I could try a new area of social work for some change. Or I could go a completely different direction.

One thing that I keep coming back to is starting a cleaning and organization business. I like to clean my own house, why not clean someone else's house. There are just a few obstacles to overcome before this process can even begin.

I have no idea what it takes to start a small business in Colorado Springs. I have no idea where to find out how to start a business. I don't know what kind of money this takes, and I don't think that my current lack of motivation brought on by my messed up schedule is very helpful.

Most people wouldn't cure boredom by cleaning, but it would be my dream come true.

Fun fillied Labor Day weekend

This past weekend seemed so busy to me. I guess there was just a lot going on, and my sleep schedule was a little screwy. It was a good time though!

Saturday evening began with Zack and Zoelie's birthday party at Lil Biggs. Mom and I hung out there for a bit and got to eat pizza and have cake.
Later that night I went t0 Old Chicago with Ryan and his friends Bryan and Kenny. Michelle was just getting done with her shift for the night, and she joined us for drinks and interesting conversation. It was a fun night!

I stayed up waaaaay too late, and was supposed to be ready to go to the balloons at Memorial Park at 6:15. I was up, showered and ready to go on time. Nathan and Marika and I drove to Memorial and only saw one balloon. Since they hadn't launched the day before, we figured that was happening again. So we drove on passed and went to Wade's cafe for breakfast! Yummy!
I slept after breakfast until about noon. Got ready for the rest of the day and headed to Pete and Marilyn's in Loveland for a cookout! It was so much fun seeing them again. I have been back for 6 months and hadn't seen any of the Gillis'. We played bocce ball and ate a lot of delicious food. It was great!
Monday was a lazy day. I slept in (surprise surprise). Then went to mom and dad's for a bit. Later in the afternoon I headed to Pueblo for some q.t. with the Montoya boys. I attempted to install a ceiling fan in Adam's room, but my weiring skills weren't up to par. Maybe I shouldn't brag so much.

Now it's back to everyone being at work and me be lazy alone. I really hope I can find a job soon. Being bored and broke gets old after a while. :)
