Painful evenings...

I am without internet at my house AGAIN. That is why I have done so little blogging recently. I am having my computer checked this afternoon so hopefully I can get up and running again soon. No more painful evenings of potting flowers and playing with the new kittens and cooking on the grill. I'm locking myself up in the house on the computer again just as soon as I can. :)

Aaahhhhhh! Finally!

I have been almost a week without Internet access at my house. I have been checking email from work when I can and crying myself to sleep at night because I can't blog.

It feels good to finally have it back. I can't believe how much time I actually spend on the Internet when I have it. Too much probably.

Another Manor dream

Last night I had a dream I was sitting with Kathie and Amy in the employee dining room at work with my bare feet up on the table. Kathie pointed out a spider bite I had on my leg and started talking about how gross it was. Amy said, "That's just like Kathie to point that out." I said. "Yeah, first she points out my pimple and now my spider bite."
Upset, I left the table and walked away quickly looking for somewhere to pout in private. I walked past the public restrooms, and I went into the one I thought said Women. I went into one of the stalls and shut the door. I heard other people coming in so I peeked through the cracks to see who it was. I saw men walking into the bathroom. I realized that I had accidentally gone into the Men's bathroom.
All of a sudden Jenny came busting through the door and said, "Amy and Kathie said you were upset, and I figured I'd find you here."

Thanks for comforting me Jenny! What a good friend!

Our "stay-cation" to Hawaii

This week has been Resident Appreciation Week at work. The theme was a "stay-cation" to Hawaii. We have had different parties and activities each day of the week. Here are a few fun shots from the week.

Fishing at "Paradise Cove" (the Manor pond)

The Steel Drum band at the Luau.

After the council meeting today we served mixed nuts and Pina Coladas!

This is the cute Tiki Hut mom and I made that I am so proud of! We have had many oppertunities to use it each day of this week.

Look what I did all by myself!

I installed a new light fixture! It was actually kind of easy. It would have been even easier if I had two more hands just to hold on to everything. I think I may need to get a smaller mirror, or we might need to move the fixture up. That is something I'm not willing to try on my own. Dad will come back again in the nearish future and do that for me. I'm inspired now! I think I'll be picking some more light fixtures to replace.

Operation Shower: Day 4

PHASE VII: GROUTING

Materials for floor, counter top and new paint color

What a joy it was to wake up this morning and be able to shower upstairs! I keep saying that the shower is the nicest spot in the house. I can't stop staring!

Dad and mom left our house around 2:00 on Monday afternoon. When I called them after work, they were having some problems with the truck so they stayed the night in Oakley. They are still stranded there now. I feel so bad. They ended up having to stay here longer then they originally planned and now they're stuck in Oakley. I hope they can get back on the road, and back home soon!

Today is the first day of the rest of my showering upstairs life. Mom and Dad are visiting and Dad is working hard. I have been wanting to put a shower in our upstairs bathroom since we moved into this house in December 2006. That dream is FINALLY coming true!!

Miranda & Joel - May 24, 2008

I had intended to share some pictures of Joel & Miranda's wedding before now, but hadn't really had the chance to pick the shots I wanted to share. It was a fun night complete with Skittle covered tables at the reception!

Busy afternoon

After church today Adam and I went to town to buy pavers to put down for a patio like we did at our old house. After a stop at his parents house we spent the rest of the evening trying to level the ground and lay pavers. Dwight was kind enough to help out! We got everything done that we could for the time being. I'll taken pictures when it's all done. Then I think I'll have to throw a party to celebrate my new patio! Any reason is a good reason for entertaining!
